Helmet Rudy Project Wingspan
Research and development at the highest levels, use of advanced materials and technologies, obsessive attention to detail.
These are the Rudy Project must-haves that gave birth to the brand new Wingspan helmet.
Already from the name - literally "wingspan" - Wingspan evokes the energy and freedom of flight which, translated into the language of sport, correspond to speed and lightness.
Conceived for time trial competitions, this helmet is characterized by contained shapes and streamlined lines, and has large ventilation slots that favor the continuous exchange of air without damaging the overall aerodynamics.
Confirming how the Rudy Project always gives the best to offer the best technical solutions, Wingspan has been tested in the wind tunnel of Charlotte, South Carolina. Under the expert gaze of John Cobb, American aerodynamics guru applied to cycling, Wingspan has undergone numerous and severe tests that have allowed him to take all the necessary precautions to optimize performance.
A long and careful team work has led to the development of all aspects, even the smallest ones, becoming valuable seconds ahead of the time trials. Then, the tests were completed directly in the race. In fact, at the last Tour de France, Wingspan raced with some of the strongest cyclists such as the Milram champions.
Comfortable and versatile, Wingspan can be used in different configurations:
- "closed" and that is with the protection of the front slit - also useful against insects - and the cover for the tail, necessary to obtain the maximum aerodynamic performance;
- "open", ie without any protection or cover to ensure maximum internal ventilation.
The structure is made with in-molding technology which makes this helmet very robust and at the same time among the lightest on the market. The anti-slip system is adjustable in height in three positions to ensure a particularly ergonomic fit.
